Pg. Montjuïc closed in the direction of the sea for work in Hortes de Sant Bertran

20/02/2024 - 06:02h

Poble-sec. This new stage of work on the spatial distribution of the area around the gardens will last until the summer and affect descending traffic in Montjuïc, diverting it towards C/ Palaudàries.

Pg. Montjuïc is closed in the direction of the sea, from C/ Palaudàries to the end, for construction work on a drainage weir at the junction with C/ Carrera. In this new stage of work on the spatial distribution of the area around the Jardins de les Hortes de Sant Bertran, Pg. Montjuïc will only carry ascending traffic in this section, with sections of parallel parking where there is enough space.

The side of Pg. Montjuïc heading in the direction of the sea will be closed between C/ Palaudàries and Pg. Josep Carner from 19 February to 23 August. Descending traffic will be diverted via C/ Palaudàries and C/ Vila i Vilà, enabling vehicles to reach C/ Josep Carner. At the exit from C/ Puig i Xoriguer leading to Pg. Montjuïc, vehicles will be obliged to turn right on the ascending side.

The road is being closed for the construction of a drainage weir (concrete sewerage block) at the junction between C/ Carrera and Pg. Montjuïc, occupying the lane nearest the Besòs. Traffic circulation heading up Montjuïc will be diverted to the opposite lane here, hence the temporary closure of this section.

The measure forms part of the renovation work in the Jardins de les Hortes de Sant Bertran, which entails the elimination of the section of C/ Carrera (circulation and parking) which currently crosses the green zone between C/ Vila i Vilà and Pg. Montjuïc. In addition, the access platforms to the Parc del Mirador del Poble-sec will be reurbanised, giving continuity in the direction of the sea and the mountain for this green space in the lower section of the Poble-sec neighbourhood.
